Sonny Rollins practicing in the park. I wrote a few haiku based on it.
following
the sax player’s fingers
light flurries
open horn case
catching more snow
than notes
swirling around
the bell of his sax
snow flakes
the weight of flakes
the sax man’s hands
even in gloves
brushing the flakes
off our shoulders
the sax man
cloudy
with a chance of flurries
Sonny blows
falling softly
across the sidewalk
Sonny’s left foot
whitening
the branches of the trees
Sonny’s solo
